On 20 September 2010, Bharti Airtel said that it had given contracts to Ericsson India, Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) and Huawei Technologies to set up infrastructure for providing 3G services in the country. These vendors would plan, design, deploy and maintain 3G–HSPA (third-generation, high-speed packet access) networks in 13 telecom circles where the company had won 3G licences. While Airtel awarded network contracts for seven 3G circles to Ericsson India, NSN would manage networks in three circles. Chinese telecom equipment vendor Huawei Technologies was introduced as the third partner for three circles.[13]
Airtel launched 3G services in Bangalore on 24 January 2011.[14] On 27 January 2011, Airtel launched 3G in Chennai and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. On 27 July 2011, 3G services were launched in Kerala's 3 largest cities – Kochi, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram.[15]

Airtel paid ₹33.1436 billion (US$490 million) for spectrum in 4 circles: Maharashtra and Goa, Karnataka, Punjab and Kolkata.[17] The company was allocated 20 MHz of BWA spectrum in 2.3 GHz frequency band. Airtel's TD-LTE network is built and operated by ZTE in Kolkata and Punjab, Huawei in Karnataka, and Nokia Siemens Networks in Maharashtra and Goa.[18] On 10 April 2012, Airtel launched 4G services through dongles and modems using TD-LTE technology in Kolkata, becoming the first company in India to offer 4G services. The Kolkata launch was followed by launches in Bangalore (7 May 2012),[19] Pune (18 October 2012),[20] and Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula (25 March 2013).[21] Airtel obtained 4G licences and spectrum in the telecom circles of Delhi, Haryana, Kerala and Mumbai after acquiring Wireless Business Services Private Limited, a joint venture founded by Qualcomm, which had won BWA spectrum in those circles in the 4G spectrum auction.[22]
Airtel launched 4G services on mobile from February 2014. The first city to get the service was Bangalore.[23][24] Airtel has started their 4G services in Karnal and Yamunanagar in Haryana on 16 June 2015.[25] Airtel 4G trials has been started in Delhi from 18 June 2015.[26] Airtel had 1,20,000 4G subscribers as of May 2014.[25]

Coimbatore, also known as Kovai [koːʋəj], is a major city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Located on the banks of the Noyyal River surrounded by the Western Ghats, it is the second largest city in the state after Chennai and 16th largest urban agglomeration in India. It is administered by the Coimbatore Municipal Corporation and is the administrative capital of Coimbatore district. It is one of the fastest growing tier-II cities in India and a major hub for textiles, industries, commerce, education, information technology, healthcare and manufacturing in Tamil Nadu. It is often referred to as the "Manchester of South India" due to its cotton production and textile industries. Coimbatore is also referred to as the "Pump City" and it supplies nearly half of India's requirements of motors and pumps. The city is one of the largest exporters of jewellery, wet grinders, poultry and auto components with "Coimbatore Wet Grinder" and "Kovai Cora Cotton" recognised as Geographical Indications by the Government of India.

Coimbatore was part of Kongu Nadu during the Sangam period between c. 1st and the 4th centuries CE and was ruled by the Cheras as it served as the eastern entrance to the Palakkad Gap, the principal trade route between the west coast and Tamil Nadu. Coimbatore was located along the ancient Roman trade route that extended from Muziris to Arikamedu in South India. The medieval Cholas conquered the Kongu Nadu in the 10th century CE. The region was ruled by Vijayanagara Empire in the 15th century followed by the Nayaks who introduced the Palayakkarar system under which Kongu Nadu region was divided into 24 Palayams. In the later part of the 18th century, the Coimbatore region came under the Kingdom of Mysore and following the defeat of Tipu Sultan in the Anglo-Mysore Wars, the British East India Company annexed Coimbatore to the Madras Presidency in 1799. The Coimbatore region played a prominent role in the Second Poligar War (1801) when it was the area of operations of Dheeran Chinnamalai.

In 1804, Coimbatore was established as the capital of the newly formed Coimbatore district and in 1866 it was accorded municipality status with Robert Stanes as its Chairman. The city experienced a textile boom in the early 19th century due to the decline of the cotton industry in Mumbai. Post independence, Coimbatore has seen rapid growth due to industrialisation. Coimbatore was ranked the best emerging city in India by India Today in the 2014 annual Indian city survey. The city was ranked fourth among Indian cities in investment climate by Confederation of Indian Industry and 17th among the top global outsourcing cities by Tholons. Coimbatore has been selected as one of the hundred Indian cities to be developed as a smart city under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's flagship Smart Cities Mission.

Simbu BEEP song problem

A song allegedly crooned by Tamil actor Simbu, and composed by Anirudh Ravichander has landed them in trouble. The song, which is popularly known as "Beep song" starts the with line "Enna P***** Love Panrom?" (Why the p***y do we love?). Though the cuss words are beeped, they are pretty much audible.
The controversial song has invited a lot of criticism. All India Democratic Women's Association, a Women's rights organisation, has filed a complaint against the two stars in Coimbatore.
Writer Charu Nivedita has blasted the duo for the untimely release of the song. The writer condemned them for releasing such a song during a time when whole of Chennai and few other districts in Tamil Nadu were suffering from the flood waters. The author of Zero Degrees further stated that he has no problem with the word, since it is like any other word in usage.  Similarly music composer James Vasanthan has also censured the act by the two celebs.
But recently Simbu has claimed that he didn't release the song and that blaming him is unreasonable. A report published in Times Of India stated the actor has said that no one can question about what he does at his home, and he cannot be held responsible if someone steals his song and releases it online.

Facebook music store

probably found yourself disappointed in the level of integration music has had into the Facebook platform.UnlikeMySpace, music has never really taken off on Facebook in the same way, and to be honest we are a little baffled as to why. Sure you can embed a YouTube video onyour wall or utilize a few relatively unknown and unused music apps, but why is there sucha large disconnect? Certainly a large majority of the music lovers that were once loyal to MySpace must have transitioned to the digital realm of Facebook by now! So where is the love?More and more I am starting to see artists becoming very active with their Facebook pages. Their activity has become much more interactive and personal as Facebook offers a whole new way for artists to connect with their fans. More and more artist are sharing new music, offering free downloads, creating Facebook events for upcoming concerts, holding contests, and even streaming live shows. Surprisingly, one thing I do not often see is a merchandise shop hosted from their Facebook page.Plug In and Turn OnWe atShopTablove music just about as muchas we love eCommerce….which is a whole lot, and we are excited to be bringing a solution to the Facebook music scene that helps makeselling your merchandise easier than ever before. With ShopTab you can place a online store directly on your Facebook Fan Page and offer all of your fans the CDs and T-shirts they missed that last time you were on tour. With the recent surge of interaction between musicians and fans on Facebook, fans are now paying closer attention to the artists they follow and spending more time on their Facebook pages to stay up to date with all the action. Hosting a ShopTab on your fan page is a great tool to help turn those fans into customers. One of my favorite artists, DJ Shadow, has been using our ShopTab Facebook Appfor almost a year now. We are happy to be working with such a major artists who can proudly boast a fan base that spans the globe and a Facebook following of over 350,000 fans. We recommend you take a lookat his shop on Facebook. He even has some free downloads up on the shop for those whomight want to check that out.
